Not sure what to do?

The following batteries can be brought to the [Recycling and Solid Waste Center]. If leaking, they should be placed in a plastic bag.

  • Car batteries (Lead acid) (only 10 lead acid batteries per load)
  • Power tool batteries (Ni-cad)
  • Phone and laptop batteries (Lithium)
  • Rechargeable AA and AAA batteries (NiMH)
  • Rechargeable button batteries (common in watches and hearing aids)

Single-use alkaline batteries can be disposed of as trash.

  • Sawdust can be composted in a backyard compost pile or disposed of in the Press Bay Alley compost bins.

  • Fats, Oils, and Greases (FOG) can be recycled at the Recycling and Solid Waste Center's FOG drop off area in a reusable container. Remove cooking oil from bottles and recycle the bottles.
